Halloween Bike Ride and Fundraiser

This Friday, October 26th, Working Bikes will be hosting a Halloween party and fundraiser in its (spooky) warehouse at 2434 S. Western Ave. from 7:00 PM to midnight.  Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door and all proceeds will benefit two great Chicago cycling institutions: Working Bikes and thechainlink.org.  Working Bikes is a non-profit dedicated to removing bicycles from the waste stream.  Working Bikes ships discarded bicycles to the developing world (over 6,000 shipped last year), donates cycles locally, and sells cycles to the community at below market rates.  The Chainlink is an online forum for Chicago’s cycling community.  Over 8,000 people currently use thechainlink.org to connect, find rides and routes, and share information.
The fundraiser on Friday conveniently takes place after the Halloween Critical Mass ride.  Drinks have been donated by Lagunitas and come along with the price of admission.  Environmental Encroachment, Swimsuit Addition, and The Racketeers will all be playing during the event.  And if all that isn’t enough, we’ll have a huge raffle for prizes donated by cycling-friendly businesses around Chicago!  More details are available at: http://www.thechainlink.org/events/the-chainlink-halloween-party-2012
