OBON ODORI

Oban Odori at Midwest Buddhist TempleThe Obon is one of the most widely celebrated and colorful of the Buddhist observances, dating back some 15 hundred years. The Obon is essentially a memorial observance, in which homage and respect are paid to the dead. It is a time for rejoicing and expressing gratitude with music and dancing.
